Mosel Magic: Julian Haart and Dönnhoff Riesling Arrivals

Small allocations, big names, and exactly the sort of Riesling drop that tends to vanish before we've had a chance to stop talking about it.
We've said it before and we'll say it again: if you want outrageous value at the serious end of the wine spectrum, German Riesling is still one of the best places to put your money. This little drop was a pretty perfect reminder.
Julian Haart Is On One
First up, Haart Riesling 2024. This is the easy sell. Bright, crisp, very smashable, and exactly the sort of bottle you open on a Tuesday and then wonder why you didn't buy six.
Then there's Mosel Riesling 2024, which gives a little more depth and shape without losing any of that cooling, limey drinkability. Just a lovely, benchmark bottle.
The pick for us might be J.J. Riesling 2024, a Kabinett from Goldtropfchen fruit with a touch of sweetness and a lot of class. Glossy, precise, and dangerously easy to keep going back to.
Then Donnhoff Shows Up
Because apparently the Haarts weren't enough, there's also Donnhoff. The Kreuznacher Krotenpfuhl Kabinett 2021 is all concentration and cut. The Oberhauser Leistenberg Kabinett 2024 is a little riper, a little gingery, and absolutely delicious.
And then, yes, the much-hyped Niederhauser Hermannshohle Spatlese 2024. We know, we know, the scores are flying around. Usually that stuff makes our eyes roll into the back of our heads, but annoying as it is, this one really is that good.

Short, sharp, and full of bottles that don't tend to hang about. If you're even vaguely Riesling-curious, this is a very good place to start.
