Michael Hill Smith MW and Martin Shaw were on a fact-finding trip in Tasmania with no immediate plans to buy a vineyard, but that’s what they ended up doing once they laid eyes on Tolpuddle. Located in the Coal River Valley just outside of Hobart, the estate has grown to international prominence, and is now considered one of Australia’s finest. Their 2018 Chardonnay was named the World’s Best White Wine in 2020. Jeez, we get it. They’re good!
Classic Tolpuddle backbone of acidity, yellow grapefruit, lemon pith, and some flinty minerality. A combination of lightness, delicacy and texture. ABV: 13%
