In the early ’90s, Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey met in the hills of Valais, Switzerland. A shared love of wine soon pulled them to Burgundy, founding Domaine des Rouges Queues in 1998 in the village of Sampigny-lès-Maranges. Starting with just 1 hectare of Maranges Rouge, the domaine has steadily grown and now spans 5.46 hectares across 15 sites.

From day one, the vineyards have been farmed with respect , guided by biodynamic principles. Each parcel is treated individually, whether that means horse ploughing or maintaining natural grass cover. In 2008, Isabelle and Jean-Yves formally applied for organic and biodynamic certification, putting official stamp to what had long been their philosophy.
