We are jazzed to be bringing you an evening with William Downie, a benchmark Australian Pinot producer and reference point for minimal intervention, site-specific winemaking. With stints at Domaine Fourier and Hubert Lignier in Burgundy and Bass Phillip in Oz under his belt, he already had a heck of a resume when he set up his own project in 2003. These days he focuses on the lesser known Gippsland region, and is fanatical about Aussie soil - it's old, like, really old, and has a ton of nuance that William loves to coax out in his wines.
