Federica and Cesare left their day jobs in Catania (archery teacher and pilot, respectively) behind in 2005 in search of the simple life. Whether or not farming 140 year old vines on the slopes of Mount Etna is the simple life I’ll leave up to you to decide. The winemaking methods are as old as the vines, as they’ve changed little since they learned the ropes from the elderly vigneron making wine for the previous owners. There are no herbicides, pesticides or fungicides in sight - the ultimate goal is the health of the vines.
