Based in Kittenberg in Southern Styria’s Sausal valley, Herbert and Karl-Heinz König, together with their mother Anni, are bringing Wachstum König back to life. The estate was started by their grandfather Friedrich, an orchard fruit pioneer, and held together by Anni after their father’s death in the 1990s.

Both brothers left before coming home. Herbert trained in viticulture and worked at one of Styria’s historic wineries. Karl-Heinz focused on agriculture and fruit growing, studying at Silberberg where he still works today.

Today they focus on making wines which speak of the terroir. Unfiltered, unfined, no additives.
