Reinhard Löwenstein was the thirteenth generation to make wine here, working 15 hectares devoted entirely to dry styles. The vineyards are farmed with a big focus on energy, pulling from biodynamic principles, feng shui and solar power. Since 1980, Reinhard and Cornelia Heymann have built some of the most sought after bottles in the Mosel. Now led by their daughter Sarah, the wines have never looked better.

These wines are all about terroir, coming from some of the steepest, slate-heavy slopes in the region. Native yeasts, large oak and a respectful approach to vineyard management set them miles apart from their contemporaries. The house style champions powerful, phenolic dry wines with the kind of structure that feels like it will last forever.
