Faedesfa, Franko 2024
Place: Colli Eugane, Italy
Grape: Caberent Franc
Vibe: Vibrant
I've always had a soft spot for Italian Cab Franc. It feels almost wrong, given Italy has so many native varieties, but I can't lie, it absolutely slaps here. Two plots blended, one on red clay, the other marl. A carbonic ferment and time in steel brings out a pure, instantly pleasurable side of the grape. Crunchy cherry fruit, plenty of Mediterranean herb, and a splash of pepper. A tiny spritz adds even more energy to this incredibly fun-loving bottle. One of those wines you'll delete in seconds. How good is the label too?
