Fabio Gea, Notu preparava decotti di Parietaria al bue 2020
Place: Piedmont, Italy
Grape: Nebbiolo
Vibe: Otherworldly
Yes, this is a bit of a mouthful, especially if your grasp of Italian is anything like mine. Worth it though. Technically, just a humble “Langhe”, but this is very much Barbaresco fruit from Bricco di Neive. To earn the DOCG, you’d need to whack it into wood. Not for Fabio. This only sees porcelain eggs!
I don’t have enough characters to explain what porcelain does to a wine. Essentially, think of it as a wine globe. It’s about as pure and unadulterated a way as there is to let a grape express itself. Tear-jerking. Almost spiritual. I think there might be a god after all. I think it might be Fabio. ABV: 14.5%
