Domaine François Cotat, Sancerre 'Cuvée Paul' 2017
Place: Loire, France
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc
Vibe: Hen's Teeth
Stupidly rare bottling. Named after François' father, this is made only in the best years from the richest barrel of Cotat's Sancerre, identified as having the greatest ageing potential. Stony and fresh like all of Cotat's wines, with a veritable smorgasbord of fruit ranging from citrus through to tropical. And underneath all that, a pulsing current of cardamom and anise. Just... woah. ABV: 13.5%
