Domaine de Bichery, En Val du Clos' 2019
Place: Champagne, France
Grape: Pinot Noir + Chardonnay
Vibe: Rares
The oldest and steepest parcel they work, planted in the 70s by Raphael’s father. The soil here is portlandian limestone, chalk, and clay. Frosts were common, so the upper hill was planted to Chardonnay, with the remaining 80% to Pinot. A very special plot, with the first release in 2018. Picked together, pressed together, and kept together until disgorged in Feb ’24. Mature, stylish, and a true collector’s item. Only 400 bottles produced, just imagine how many are still left in France. Cute label too. ABV 12.5%
