A slight shift in house style as this is the broodiest, most dark-fruited expression we’ve seen from Christian & Morgane. No complaints here. There’s still plenty of their signature energy, with a finely grained tannin structure suggesting serious aging potential. Some of the fruit comes from friends in Savigny and Puligny, the rest from their oldest, steepest vines in their Goutte d’Or parcel. Same hands-off approach as their Hautes-Côtes: two-week whole bunch maceration, then hand-destemming to stop things getting too green, before a final week of maceration. This is a wild ride! Whilst I'm often not fussed with a decanter this significantly improved with a whole lot of air. Natty Burgs doesn't get much better. ABV:12%
