Clair Obscur is the project of Pierre and Jennifer Clair, a husband and wife team rooted in Burgundy’s biodynamic scene. Pierre spent years as chef de culture at Domaine de Montille and then Domaine Marquis d’Angerville, two names synonymous with biodynamic farming. Today he tends the family’s vineyards while Jennifer runs the cellar. What began as 0.4 hectares of family vines in Corpeau now includes parcels in Maranges, Santenay, Beaune and the Hautes Côtes, all farmed biodynamically and vinified with a light touch. The wines are honest expressions of place.
