The team at Ancre Hill Vineyard aren’t just trailblazers for Welsh winemaking, they’ve also been leading the charge for organic and biodynamic viticulture across the British Isles for quite some time. Almost at cult status for fans of all things homegrown.

Tucked away in Monmouth, their vineyards benefit from a surprisingly warm and sheltered microclimate! All thanks to a south-facing slope, low rainfall, and the nearby Wye Valley acting as a natural buffer. I was told that it's one of the driest places in the UK on my visit, that said, it was pissing it down at the time but I'll believe 'em! The unique growing conditions lend the rare ability to ripen grapes consistently and produce wines with real fruit and concentrated flavour, each and every vintage.
