Am I the only one who loves Auxerrois? It's often way back in the Alsatian pecking order, but I think that's because historically no one has given it the care and attention it deserves. The parcel is 50 years old, on alluvial and granitic soils, and Anaïs ferments on skins for a couple of days before pressing off to rest in vats. This is fragrant and subtly smoky, with pithy citrus, tingling minerals and a nice saline bite. It instantly made me crave Tarte Flambée. ABV: 13%
