Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Fun to say. More fun to drink. Especially when it’s handled like this. Guyot trained, vigorous sorting in the vineyard, spontaneous ferment. It is then given plenty of time, two years to relax, in large-format used barrels, followed by 6 months in bottle prior to release. We have then held onto these even further so they’re actively purring. We’ve got a few vintages up for grabs, all showing beautifully at their different stages of development. All are destined for great futures. If you’ve drunk any older Emidio Pepe you’ll know we’re only at the beginning here.

2017 a warmer year, with plenty of concentration, savoury depth. Hitting its stride.
2019 considered a benchmark vintage in the region. Classic and with the acidity to go forever.
2021 Another belter considered one of the best. Cool spring and perfect ripening.
