Domaine Ratte

Tucked away in the industrial park as you exit Arbois to the north, Michel-Henri and Françoise Ratte are busy crafting extremely pure, clean, topped up Jurassic expressions in their new cellar. We are delighted to be importing their gear. As you'll see from the tasting notes, we like the wines, a lot. All farming is organic, with plenty of old vine material in some of the appellation's prime vineyards.
They own 9 hectares of vines from famed parcels such as Les Corvées, Clos Maire and Pré Levront. Vine age is between 20-80 years old but there is still a small part of 100 year old Savagnin in Pré Leveron planted by François Great Grandfather. In a region where clonal material is rarely discussed, they are working with historic local variants including Trousseau á la Dame and Massale selected Pinot Noir.
Vinification and maturation is entirely in stainless steel, and the cellar is spotless. My kind of winemaking. Minimal SO2 at bottling for stability. These are wines destined for long lives, showing immense aromatic complexity and saline cut and thrust.

We are currently importing the following wines (please note, the prices on each link are retail):

Chardonnay 'Grand Curoulet' 2022

Chardonnay 'Le Regaule' 2023

Savagnin 'Nature' 2022

Melon a Queue Rouge 2022

Clos Maire 2023

Pinot Noir 2023

Trousseau 'Les Corvees' 2023
