G’day,
How’s it? Long time! There’s been a fair bit going on our end, and today’s journal is chock-full-of action.
We begin in Paradise on Paradise Row where I’m stoked to introduce Tempo Sunday Sessions. For some the Sabbath represents a day of rest, for us, it offers a high chance of hedonistic pleasure. Each week we’ll be putting together a 20-strong list of turbo elixir (read: primo, cultish wines) at one-off prices. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. The chefs will be slinging a £25 set menu (including some debut Char Siu) and the Somms will be ripping corks all afternoon. Basically those who are lucky enough to secure a table will be incredibly well fed and watered.
You can should reserve a table here, and this weeks wine selection is now up on insta for those who are visually minded. Cya there, we’ll be going from 2-late (9ish).
And how about that VIP chat, because who doesn’t want top tier status?
On the second Wednesday of each month, beginning this July, we’ll be throwing an exclusive 14 seat dinner party to celebrate the landing of fresh wines from our favourite producers. I like the idea (came up with it myself) and figured I’d better start things off hot….
Join us (if you’re quick) to an evening of wine from Damien Guadagnolo and a Jura-centric menu in Side Piece. A glimpse into my DM exchanges with Damien over the past three years could inspire a very one sided romance novel but as it happens, persistence pays off. Two years ago I drove over to Orbagna to collect a few cases from the great man, which felt like quite the feat. So imagine my surprise at finally received an allocation invoice that was worthy of using a shipping company to bring in.
We’ll be pouring 5 of Damien’s wines, and the ticket price includes your meal as well as your choice of 2 take away bottles on the night. Sounds half decent.

Still reading? ILY!
We’ve the usual array of fresh arrivals and re-ups over at the depot. Here are my highlights from recent times.
Luca Bambara, Casa Orange - I know Fionn launched these last week, but I had a glass on the weekend and it absolutely rips. A macerated wine for those who like textural whites. Have a crack with a decent meal and thank us later.
Maxime Crotet, Olivia - we drank this at Tempo the other night. Unreal. Zippy but fleshy in all the right places. It’s come together incredibly well over a few months - no brainer natty burgs.
Icy Liu, Mercurey - primo! I took over a small vineyard in Italy this year, which isn’t burgundy and doesn’t have Pinot but if I could make a wine that was 50% as good as this I’d be stoked. Lithe and bristling with energy. Only one left…
So much writing, I need a VB
xoxo
Dan
