Morning,
Lovely day for it!
Lovely day to announce the next tasting too! We have Paul and Gilli of Sailor Seeks Horse in town in September. Paul is mostly here for the cricket, but I have managed to wrangle them for one evening only at Dan’s. We’re also joined by Mel Chester of Giant Steps, so in honour of two of the greatest Pinot producers from anywhere we bring you Pinosity: an evening of elite red wine and elite conversation. I’ve been a long time fan of the SSH wines as readers will know, and Mel has recently been showered with awards and praise back home. The Giant Steps winery at which she steers the ship has recently gone about a huge glow up, and judging from the feedback from people who I consider to know what they’re talking about, it’s somehow upgraded what was already primo gear. Pumped to have her joining us, pumped to try the new releases.
And, if that wasn’t enough. I’ve struck a delicious deal with my local purveyor of fine things, Stellas, for Sal and Jack to come down and supply Tartare for the evening. The boys recently took over operating the business up in Newington Green and things have never been better. Great to support a fellow Man From Downunder as well. A huge tasting and evening that promises to be exceptionally on brand.
How about that highlight?
Monday saw me pouring all of the recently arrived LC Selections wines for the adoring UK wine trade at Ken’s. Obviously everything went down well, but perhaps a bit of a surprise here was this wine from SOMOS. Things don’t come much more BBQ friendly, perfect writing as I look out the window at a deliciously grey sky. Ahh, the Great British Summer that everyone talks about. Add a bit of sunshine to your life. Stocks limited.
Oki, that is all. Have a nice weekend etc
