Wine from Volcanic Slovakia // 21st Feb

Coming in with some good stuff that you may be less familiar with. Villiam from Pandemonium Wines will be running us through six bottles by three Slovakian producers. All levels on the natty spectrum, all levels of greatness. 

Pivnica Cajkov, a natural winemaker with over 20 years of winemaking under his belt from the hills of the Nitra region; Pivnica Brhlovce, whose cellar is located in a cave of tuff bedrock - made of volcanic ash; and Ján Svetík, also from the Nitra region, who takes a rustic approach to winemaking, using just hands and time in his cellars. Nice. 

We’ll hopefully learn something about the stuff of tuff, but mainly enjoy some good glugging. It’s a colourful range, orange and pink pét nat, more orange, and then a red and a white. I’m excited. Grab a ticket if you are too - they’re £30 per person - a real steal - and the event is limited to 24 people. 

Tuesday 20th February. Pancake Day. These wines are better than pancakes though.
