Before handing over his Domaine to his two sons, Pierre Gonon farmed some of the best slopes of Mauves, aka the birthplace of the Saint-Joseph appellation. Since passing the torch, the young Gonons have made serious strides towards establishing the estate as the producers of Saint-Joseph. The wines they produce have real chutzpah and a bit of wildness, but still retain plenty of the freshness and delicacy that consumers expect from this area.
