Montréal native Patrick Piuze worked under Leflaive, Jean-Marc Brocard and Jean-Marie Guffens before striking out on his own in 2008. He buys in fruit from trusted growers in Chablis, crafting eight villages-level wines, each expressive of the terroir they come from. His trademark, according to his fans, is the ability to strike a perfect balance between the minerality characteristic of Chardonnay and also its fleshy fruit profile. That’s according to me.
