Merlot from the Roussillon is not something I'd usually be getting excited about so you'll just have to trust me on this one. This is so lithe and ethereal that it's almost hard to believe this is from this deep south. A gentle, four-day maceration coaxes out a pretty side of Merlot I've not seen before. Dark cherry fruit is tamed by tight and fine tannin's and we've got plenty of driving acidity too. The finish is almost chinotto-like. If only all Merlot was made like this. Zero zero. ABV: 12%
