American Alan Emil Manley started drinking wine from his father's glass when he was four years old. King! His father and grandfather were both collectors, so that vinous gene definitely runs in the family. Before moving permanently to Italy, Alan worked in wine for 15 years, and founded a wine bar and restaurant, Primitivo, in Colorado Springs. From 2008 he did harvest with a different winemaker every year. Margherita Otto was eventually founded in 2015 and their first release was in 2019 - of the 2015 Barolo.
