Jean-Baptiste Menigoz was a teacher in Arbois before he fell in love with natural winemaking. He split his time between the two for ten years, before none other than Stéphane Tissot convinced him to make wine full time. He was joined in 2014 by Dutch winemaker Florien Kleine Snuverink, and the estate now comprises seven hectares over seven different plots, with soil types ranging from limestone to heavy clay to marl. He’s worked organically since day one, with some biodynamic processes in place according to each plot’s needs. He makes a vast range of wines, all with native yeasts, no fining and no filtration. Wines he likes to drink himself, he says. I like to drink them too, and so will you.
