Domaine du Pélican began after Guillaume d’Angerville (of legendary Volnay estate Marquis d’Angerville) blind sampled a bottle of Jura Chardonnay and was so blown away he decided to buy land there too. He built the estate from an initial five hectares to a total of fifteen (the last five purchased from retiring Jura ledge Jacques Puffeney). The approach to winemaking is broadly Burgundian (obvs) but with a distinctly Jurassien flair.
