Domaine de Chevalerie, Busardières 1993
Place: Loire, France
Grape: Cabernet Franc
Vibe: Matured, Natural
From a perfect mid-slope plot of Cabernet Franc on Turonian rocks (89-million-year-old chalk) and clay. This is always refined and elegant with wonderfully soft tannins. A real class act and something that still has such vibrancy given its age. Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that this has patiently sat unlabeled in the family cellar, which has been carved into the tuffeau slopes (perfect, unvarying temps for ageing) since being bottled before the turn of the century. Liquid history. ABV: 13%
Due to the nature of these bottles, they are sold as seen.
