Domaine Bohn, Pinot Gris 'Schieferberg' 2020/21

Schieferberg is the place to be! Southerly exposed, at 350-400 metres of altitude, sheltered by the Ungersberg mountain. It's all schist too, which keeps the heat on hot days and returns it as needed on those cooler nights. This is one hell of a wine. Bone dry and broad shouldered, a Pinot Gris with personality in spades. Apple skin bitters, citrus zest, plenty of stone fruit, almost with a ginger-like spice. The finish is all crushed rock and steel. Decant this and serve it with food. ABV: 13%
