Ramiro Ibáñez began Cota 45 in a former boat repair shop, after spending a few years consulting for various other estates. His ultimate goal is to express the terroir of Jerez, discovering the best that its white, chalky soil, or albariza, has to offer. ‘45’ is a reference to the number of metres above sea level, where Ramiro believes the best albariza is located.
