Bencze Birtok, Autochthon Red 2022
Place: Badacsony, Hungary
Grape: Kadarka + Kék Bakator + Kékfrankos + Hajnos kék
Vibe: Natural, Juicy
A big ol' blend of Hungarian autochthonous varieties. New word for you too? Well, that is a variety that is local to a specific region. I guess you can consider this a snapshot of what the Hungarian wine of yesteryear might have tasted like, and boy is it damn good. The fruit here runs the gamut. Cranberries, blood orange, hibiscus, rosehip. One of those wines that is just as complex as it is utterly smashable. Chill it, decant it, down it in one! ABV: 11%
