Andreas Bender, Pinot Noir 2022
Place: Pfalz, Germany
Grape: Pinot Noir
Vibe: Classic, lighter
Under normal circumstances I'd say stick to Riesling, but I was pleasantly surprised here. German Pinot used to be pretty sinister, over-oaked and underripe. This is neither of those things. It's plush, refreshing and incredibly balanced. What's more, it improves and develops over a couple of days once opened, a sure sign of class. Very, very good value here. ABV: 13%
