Vini di Giovanni
Third generation shepherd Giovanni Battista Mesina was born and raised in Sardinia, but sought out the calmer climes of Umbria later in life. The original plan was to tend to his flock and make cheese, but he soon turned his hand to winemaking as well. The vines are planted to a mixture of local varieties like Ciliegiolo and Giovanni's fave Sardinian grape, Vermentino. Giovanni adopts a minimal intervention approach in the cellar, allowing the fruit and the terroir to speak for itself, and doesn't add any additional sulphites.
