HEART THROBS

by Megan Jones

Morning,

How goes?

Good thanks.

That was a warm one! Almost as warm as my feelings toward the focus of todays attention. It’s more of a burning desire. Hopefully they’re not reading. Could make things awkward.

I’ve just gotten back from a quick journey to France, where my main objective, other than the mass consumption of Orangina from glass bottle was to visit our Jura producers and collect our miniscule allocation from our newest grower, Damien Guadagnolo.

Young Damien, pictured below (sort of), pivoted to winemaking at the ripe age of 15. Still too young to truly taste he sought out a proper education in all things Jurassic wine. His tutelage was under a certain producer whose surname starts with G and ends in T and is located in Rotalier. So it could have been a worse way to kick things off. We first visited on a frigid morning in March this year, with some of our team immediately warmed by the sight of Damien, and others by the supreme quality of the wine on display. Sometimes you walk into a cellar, try the first wine and just know. You know? Anyway, we took what was on offer and are lovingly offering it to you. We eagerly await the whites which’ll land later this year, but in the interim fill your boots with reds that do superbly well out of the fridge.

Moving swiftly onwards. Riley Harrison, pictured below (in slightly clearer light) joins us next week, Tuesday the 20th, all the way from Adelaide for one night only. Join me (the Dan) and Riley for an evening of deep conversation and lovely wine. Tickets for that are available here. His wines are of hedonistic pleasure, suitable to any occassion, any palate, old or of legal drinking age, natty or classic, whatever you want. Rare beasts. There’s more on the water, but until then we have what we have, and it isn’t loads, so be clever about it. Do your thing right here.

Miss me already?
