✈FRESHIES FROM FRANCE✈

What’s up winos,
I’ve been struck down. Felled in the prime of life. (I have a cold.) January is such a bummer, isn’t it? Lucky for you, I’ve got just the thing to cheer you up.
Blessed to be bringing you the new vintages of Les Dolomies, yet another excellent Jura producer. Céline has a fair few accolades under her belt, having done time at Labet and Saint-Pierre (flex), and she powered all that expertise into her own domaine, which specialises in fresh, mineral, topped up wines. I’ve got four for ya today, all in teeny tiny quantities - the tropical and briny Croix Sarrant, the tangy, citrusy Les Combes, the rich yet sharp Les Grandvaux, and the ever so lightly oxy Arco. You can’t go wrong with any of these, the only way you can go wrong is by not getting any. Do the right thing!
Speaking of Labet veterans, we’ve also got a couple of bottles of Allante & Boulanger left, from their Chardy/Savagnin skinsy cuvee. My favourite thing about this wine (apart from the taste, obvi) is Fionn’s attempts at pronouncing it (Suzie Poyds, I think was the latest version). In case you’re not as ~francaise as I am, it’s ‘Soo Pwoi’. Does that help? Probably not. Whatever, take it up with Duo Lingo. The wine is as complex as the pronunciation - nutty, salty, citrusy, all the good -ys. Hop on this before it’s all gone.
More good skinsy Jura also just arrived in the form of Patrice Beguet’s Three Views of a Secret - Gewurz, which is far from being my favourite grape, but in the right hands it can really sing. Guess what kind of hands Patrice has? I remember trying this right from tank at his vineyard last year (fleeeexxxxx, sorry about it) and it’s delish. He’s doing the mostest to rehabilitate Gewurztraminer’s sus reputation, and I for one am thankful. If you like the sound of him, try the Fresh Impression - an eclectic mix of Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Melon de Bourgogne and Ploussard that all combine to make something fresh (duh) and fruity, cloudy and straight up yummy. Get out of ya boxes this year people, try something NEW.
Gotta go blow my nose for three hours. Cya!
Megan
